
Christopher Sebes, President and Chief Executive Officer
With more than three decades of involvement in the restaurant industry, Christopher Sebes brings in-depth industry knowledge to his role as Chief Executive Officer of XPIENT Solutions. Prior to XPIENT's acquisition of Progressive Software, Sebes was Progressive's President and Chief Executive Officer. Sebes joined Progressive Software as Chief Operating Officer in 2001, and was named to the chief executive role a year later.
Before joining Progressive, Sebes was an investor in and Chief Operating Officer of Southern Hospitality Systems, Squirrel Systems' largest point-of-sale distributor and Progressive's first reseller. In the mid-1990s, Sebes became interested in the use of technology to more efficiently and effectively manage restaurants. As co-founder and Vice President of Twenty/20 Visual Systems, he helped design and market one of the earliest Windows-based point-of-sale systems. The award-winning POS was sold to Radiant Systems in 1997.
Sebes has trained as a professional chef, and received a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management at the University of Portsmouth in England. He has 20 years of experience in restaurant and hotel management spanning three continents, including managing one of the top ten restaurants in New York City and the only 5-star resort hotel in Mombasa, Kenya. Sebes' first hand knowledge of the challenges facing restaurant operators has contributed to his strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Atul Changela, Vice President of Development
Atul Changela earned his Bachelors Degree in computer systems in England. He has devoted his entire career to software design and systems development for the foodservice industry.
Changela joined Progressive in 1990 and authored the original SMART POS product, of which 9,000 installations remain in use today. Atul's broad technical expertise was instrumental in orchestrating the design and development of XPIENT's current transaction processing application suite.
Jim Kenney, Chief Financial Officer
Jim Kenney has more than 25 years experience in Technology companies. His career began at IBM and later encompassed several positions at ISI, culminating in his role as that company's Chief Financial Officer during which time he oversaw the merger of ISI and Sykes Enterprises.
Kenney's experience includes roles where he had responsibility for both sales and operations as well as Finance. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from UNC, Chapel Hill.
Sean Dugan, Chief Technology Officer
With over 20 years of experience working for large restaurant brands, Sean Dugan incorporates a customer perspective in his role as Chief Technology Officer. During his career he has been instrumental in selecting, delivering and supporting successful restaurant technology solutions for several chain restaurants. His understanding of the business demands and competitive nature of the restaurant industry is instrumental in helping define and align XPIENT's products and services with the immediate and long-term needs of the industry.
Prior to joining XPIENT, Dugan was the Director of Brand Delivery for Denny's. He was responsible for the overall restaurant systems, focusing on delivering business solutions and technology services for all Denny's company restaurants. He also headed up an effort to provide the Denny's franchise community an opportunity to participate in a corporate sponsored technology program. The program provides restaurant technology and services through vendor partnerships.
Dugan held various Information Technology positions at Burger King Corporation and was involved in several generations of restaurant technology refreshments. He holds a Bachelors Degree from Barry University.
Jim Davidson, Vice President, Product Operations
Jim Davidson joined Progressive Software in 1996 and in his years of service has worked in every product-related department of the company, including Quality Assurance, Professional Services , Software Development , Sales and Marketing and Product Management. As such, Davidson has a unique understanding of XPIENT's products and service offerings, as well as all that is required to sell, develop, implement and support quality software solutions for the foodservice industry.
Holding a Bachelors Degree from the University of North Carolina, Davidson moved into his current role after XPIENT's acquisition of Progressive Software.
Roy Barker, Vice President Regional Sales
Roy Barker is a 25 year veteran of IBM where he served in management capacities in Marketing, Product Management, Business Planning, Business Systems and Purchasing. While at IBM, Barker was a member of the management team that initially developed POS offerings for the Food Service segment where XPIENT plays a major role. He joined Progressive Software in 1994 and is currently a Vice President of Regional Sales with joint responsibility for new business development at XPIENT Solutions.
Michael J. Banik, Vice President Regional Sales
Mike Banik has been focused on providing technology and support solutions to the restaurant community for over 25 years. He was recruited in 2001 to join the current management team based on his strong industry experience and his success in several officer level positions that included responsibilities for key account sales, customer support and general management.
At XPIENT, Banik shares responsibility for business development in the National Account segment and has primary responsibility for securing the approval of XPIENT Solutions’ products at targeted Brand Franchisors for distribution to their respective franchisee communities.
John Tata, Vice President
John Tata enjoys almost 30 years of experience in the hospitality and retail systems business. His career began at Data Terminal Systems where he achieved responsibility for overseeing its North American Dealer Channel operations. His background includes senior executive positions in sales, marketing and general management with both systems manufacturers and key systems resellers. Tata oversees XPIENT's Corporate Marketing effort and XPIENT's Indirect Sales Channel. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts .
John Shannon, Vice President Customer Care
John Shannon has been involved in Customer Service for 23 years. John began his career as a Help Desk analyst for Wang. He then went on to manage Technical Support for Unilever's Chesebrough-Ponds unit. John built a 7x24 Customer Service Center at Petals Catalog. He managed technical support teams for Entex, ERS, RetailDNA and Castel. John has supported and deployed POS to most of the major retail chains. His most recent endeavor was to create a global enterprise support center for OATSystems. He holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science from Boston College.
John's passion for Customer Satisfaction will allow XPIENT's help desk to deliver outstanding Technical Support Services.
