CKE Restaurants, Inc. Deploying XPIENT's Full Product Suite

Charlotte, NC; November 6, 2006 ~ CKE Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE:CKR) has licensed XPIENT Solutions’ complete product suite for implementation at its 1,200 company-owned restaurant locations. With the rollout completed at CKE’s 400 Carl’s Jr.® company-owned restaurant sites, CKE is preparing an effort to implement XPIENT at company-owned Hardee’s® restaurant locations.

CKE Restaurants, Inc. has acquired a license for all company-owned restaurants for XPIENT’s IRIS POS, Enterprise Data Manager (EDM), eIntelligence, Exception Based Monitoring System (XBMS) including both Visual Dashboard and Real-Time Alerts, credit card and gift cards, labor scheduling, and inventory solutions. XPIENT also provided a custom interface to CKE’s existing back office system (BOS).

IRIS point-of-sale allows users to create and maintain menus, handles complex discount scenarios, traces cash from point of order to point of deposit, tracks time and attendance, and provides automatic end of day processing. EDM allows users to make a single change to a central database and update all remote locations automatically for new inventory items, pricing changes, specials, employee information, tax tables, etc. Accessed from any standard web browser, eIntelligence captures and consolidates transactional store data and provides detail reporting to the transaction level. End-users can tailor their reporting both regionally and corporately, generating meaningful data for making relevant/timely strategic and tactical decisions. Visual Dashboard provides an interactive source of management information on the store from the back office or a terminal. Real-Time Alerts provides immediate notification via cell phone, pager or email of a wide range of business conditions, drawing advance attention to potential problems and opportunities.
